catching up...

Ok, so I've gotten really behind at this ~ I'm sure you're all shocked (ha ha). Here's what Norrah's been up to the past few weeks...

raod trip: A couple weeks ago Norrah had her 1st road trip ~ we went home to Louisville for Granny's birthday. First we stopped in Santa Claus to see Grandma and Poppa...

then we were on our way to see Granny, her Aunties, Uncle Kris and Kapri. Norrah even got to go to church with her Granny! She was extra spoiled by the time we got home to say the least!

father's day: Norrah is so lucky to have amazing Grandpas and a Great Grandpa but most of all the best Daddy in the world! We hope all fathers had a Happy Father's Day. We love you! The picture below is my favorite of Norrah and her Daddy...

8oz bottle: We recently broke out the 8oz bottles since Norrah has been killing the 4oz ones. We tried 6ozs the 1st night and she took it with no problem. The next day Bill gave her 8ozs, and not that she does this every time, but you can see what happened...

bumbo: I tried Norrah in the Bumbo on Sunday. I think she thought she was all grown sitting in there...

and then she discovered her toes... she seemed to be extremely interested in them...

daycare: Monday was Norrah's 1st day at daycare. Whew... that was so much rougher than I ever expected! When I dropped her off she looked at Mama Jane's (babysitter) she smiled while I cried. Who's the big girl and who's the baby :)

Ok, that should bring everyone up to speed. I'll try to do better at keeping it up.... can't make any promises though :)

2 months old

Well, actaully 2 1/2 because I haven't been doing so well at keeping up with our blog. I took Norrah's pictures at 2 months and never got them posted so here they are. At her 2month check up she weighed 12lbs and was 22 3/4 in long and the doctor said we have a healthy baby! I can't believe she's getting so big so fast!

norrah's 1st walk

It was such a beautiful day that I took Norrah for a walk. This was her 1st walk. I used to be able to walk through the hills in our complex with no trouble... it's a lot different after you have a baby and you're pushing a stroller up the hills! Guess that will be my summer workout. Norrah seemed to enjoy it. I would stop throughout and come around to the front of the stroller thinking that she was so quiet and must be asleep, but she was bright eyed and just looking around absorbing all the new scenery. She made it to the very end then fell asleep.

We have decided to go ahead and ease Norrah into formula since I will be going back to work in 2 weeks. At 1st I don't think she was too impressed but she is doing better with it. Daddy got to give her the 1st bottle!

Auntie Teeva gave Norrah a play mat when we were in California. The first time we put it on the floor with her she looked around for about 2 minutes then put her head down and went to sleep! We put the toy Uncle Evan and Aunt Leslie got for her on the mat too. It's supposed to go on the car seat but we put it everywhere - she loves it! Especially since it lights up and plays music.

We went to California to see Bill's dad and introduce Norrah to her Grandpa and the rest of her Cali family. I was 30 before I made it to CA and this girl was 5 weeks! I was really worried about flying with a baby, but she did amazing. I was worried her ears would pop and it would hurt her, she'd start screaming and I wouldn't be able to stop her, etc... intead she slept almost the entire time! We were able to spend almost a week there and it was great to see everyone. It was so good to see Bill's dad and happy to introduce him to his new grandchild... "lucky number 7" as he calls her (his 7th grandchild). Norrah has come home a bit rotten (understatement!!!) considering she was held the entire time. Needless to say... she loved it! We were in both SuiSun and "the City". Patrick was a great tourguide and took us on a tour of the city 1 day. Another highlight was the InNOut burger we out before we left. Best part though was getting to spend time with everyone (and Ms Elizabeth's cake). We were sad to leave and miss everyone already!!! happy mother's day

Yesterday was my 1st Mother's Day and I had the best day! Bill fixed breakfast (waffles w strawberries and whip cream) then had a card and flowers for me. In the card he signed Norrah's name (of course) but also put her hand prints in it. So cute! Then he fixed lobster rolls for dinner and they were amazing! What a great 1st mother's day and I loved spending it with my 2 most special people.

Norrah wanted to send her love to the mothers we love so we sent them the picture below. I hope all mother's enjoyed their special day!

Aunt Peggy and Jaidyn came to visit us Sunday thru Tuesday. Jaidyn is 6 months and it's crazy to think that is how big Norrah will be in 6 months. She has the most precious chunky legs and feet!!! I hadn't seen Peggy and Jaidyn since my baby shower and Jaidyn has grown so much since then (yes, this is the same baby that was at my shower). Jaidyn loved Norrah and kept trying to kiss her. I can tell they will be best of friends. The girls were so much fun but I think Peggy and I were both ready for nap by Tuesday afternoon.

Uncle Evan and Aunt Lesley visited us last weekend. Norrah was thrilled becuase she was held the entire day thanks to Aunt Leslie . It was a nice relaxing day... we grubbed on some lasagna mom sent and watched the Derby (if only we had money on Mine that Bird).

getting bigger

Last Friday (May 1st) Norrah had a check up at the dr. and we were told that she is doing great! At 2 1/2 weeks she weighs 9lb 11ozs... such a big girl. The dr. also cleared her for her 1st big trip ~ we will be off to CA on Wed the 13th so she can meet her grandpa.

norrah rolled over!!!

Bill was laying with Norrah on Monday and had her on her belly. All the sudden I hear him yell that she rolled over! I went in the bedroom and he put her on her belly and she did it again!!! We video taped it and I've been waiting to put it on here until I got it uploaded so you could see (it's actually what made me want to start the blog to begin with). Anyway, for some reason I can't figure out how to get it on here but as soon as I do I will post it.

outing with mommy and grandma

Grandma came to visit on Thursday and Norrah got to go out for her 1st outing (other than the dr's office). We went for lunch and then to Sears. We had to stop back at home for a quick change since she spit up all over herself while we were eating lunch.... guess I will learn to put a bib on her more often :) The weather was beautiful and was the perfect day for Norrah's 1st day out.

1st bath

Norrah's cord fell off earlier than most so we were able to give her a bath when she was just 1 week. The pictures look like she wasn't happy, but she was just making faces. We were surprised that she didn't seem to mind it at all.

lucky Uncle Kris

Uncle Kris played Norrah's birthday in the Pick3 and won. Go Uncle Kris!!! We're still waiting for Norrah's cut :)

Uncle Kris and Ebony brought her the neatest gifts when they visited... there is a bear that makes "mommy sounds", slippers that rattle when she moves her feet (see pic below - she loves them!) and Aunt Ebony gave her an infant toothbrush and gum massager... it's never to early to start on good teeth habbits!

2nd dr's visit

Over the weekend we noticed Norrah seemed to have a touch of jaundice so we called the dr and were back in her office Monday morning. The dr said that it was a very slight case and that it would run it's course. They did have to prick her heel and draw blood which brought on her 1st tears (which also made me cry along with her). Poor thing ~ we felt so bad for her.

1st dr's visit

On Friday the 17th Norrah had her 1st Dr. appointment. The picture below is when we were getting ready to leave. This was our first time out and I had everything ready to go, then she smiled (see the picture below) and she made this horrible noise and along with it came a horrible smell. So we get her out, change her and run out the door. We get to the dr's office and I realize I forgot her diaper bag ... what a horrible mother!!!

Anyway, she did perfect and didn't need anything out of her bag. Dr Stacey said that she looked great and was doing fine and even gained 1 oz! (which she said was very good)

I bet I never forget her diaper bag again!

visitors

We had so many visitors....

Proud Grandma came to the hospital the 1st day to meet her 1st grandchild. The 2nd day Granny and Aunite Chelle came then helped us on our way home. We also had other friends stop by... Rene, Erin and McKenna, Becky and "Grandpa" Nick.

That Saturday Unlce Kris and Ebony came to visit and on Sunday we had the whole family here... Grandma and Poppa, Granny, Auntie Chelle and Seliena and Kapri. Bill and Nuchelle went and got some Mrs Winners chicken and we chowed!!!!

our Angel is here!

Norrah Korryn was born on Tuesday April 14th, 2009 at 1:23am. She weighed 8lb 13oz and was 21in long.

Bill and I left for the hospital around 8pm Monday evening not knowing for sure that we were even in labor... by the time we got there we were pretty sure this was the real thing. I was really feeling the contractions (they are no joke!!!) and about 11:15 an angel named nurse Vicki came in and gave me the epidural.

Bill was so amazing thru the entire thing. He had downloaded hundreds of songs that he had playing throughout that were really relaxing. And the best part is that Norrah was born to our favorite song... at that point I couldn't hear the music but as soon as she was born Bill told me that our song was playing!
